The new Samsung series 9 (S27B970D) apparently doesn't use PWM either by the way (PWM is something tft central have started testing for as standard in their reviews, so if PWM results in a quiet screen that info could really help when shopping around - it's not something manufacturers list in their specs, but it can be tested for). But you should remember that the new monitor will be a refurbished one, so it will not be a new. I bought the 2740 because it doesn't use PWM to dim the backlight and I thought maybe this would eliminate annoying hum from the screen. ASUS VE247H is a 23.6 inches led monitor.
